Sharing our stories....

In February of 2006, I found something “different” during a self exam. A month later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Being the rebel, I sought second opinions and ways to support my body while the conventional treatment plan was tearing it down. I took a medicine wheel approach to managing my care. All the modalities, complementary and conventional, held equal space in my integrated plan for wellness. Massage, acupuncture, a nutrition plan, art, yoga, and energy work kept my body, mind and spirit in balance during surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. While the cancer journey through diagnosis and subsequent surgery and treatments were rough, scary and life changing…the gifts of clarity, empowerment and community are invaluable. Cancer shines the spotlight on self care and reveals life in a new focus. It is my hope that the stories and information shared here provide information, inspiration, and healing for all that are touched by cancer. Teresa
